How to Find your Ideal Weight?

So, What's Your Ideal Weight Again?
This is basically the weight where you're the healthiest. When, you look and feel great, and everything in your body is working the way it should.

Why It's So Important
So many things are affected by this. When you're at your ideal weight, your skin is clear, you have loads of energy, and it's fairly easy to maintain that weight. Plus, it's nice to not stress about trying to fit into a size four dress when you know you're healthiest when you fit into a six.

Do Some Math...
Ideal weightEveryone's ideal weight is different, but it's usually determined by your body mass index (BMI), which is calculated based on your height, weight, and gender. For most people, a BMI of 25 or more is considered overweight, and a BMI of less than 18.5 is considered underweight, so you want to aim to be in the 18.5 to 24 range. This BMI calculator will help figure out where you fall.

Don't Be a Slave to the Scale
It's totally normal for a person to fluctuate a few pounds from day to day, especially if you had a salty meal the night before. It's okay to weigh yourself here and there but don't make it a regular habit—you'll freak over little spikes and drive yourself nuts.

Use the Jeans Test
If you're eating well, exercising regularly, and keeping stress to a minimum, you should be able to be in the right range. But if you notice your jeans are suddenly a bit tight and you haven't been able to work out as much, go ahead and weigh yourself to see where you're at.

Keep It Up
Another reason why ideal weight is so freaking great: You can treat yourself here and there and won't totally fall off the wagon. Just balance sweets and snacks out with a healthy mix of veggies and fruit, whole grains, lean proteins (like chicken and Greek yogurt), and healthy fats. Your bod will thank you.
